Week 13

Breaking News: Definitive proof of ahgrrr meaning hungry.

:-)

Besides obtaining striking footage which confirms the long-held suspicion about the meaning of "ahgrrr", this last week we also got to meet some friends again. But that was only on the weekend, the weekdays we occupied ourselves with our routine: Kathrin spending most of the day at work at the university and I at home taking care of Daniel (though for the next ten days still with a huge help from my mother, especially in the mornings :-) ).
Daniel is now certainly sleeping much longer stretches during the night, but unfortunately seldom without interruptions. That is specially hard on Kathrin, who is still breastfeeding and thus ends up feeding him most of the times at night (besides usually pumping at least once a day at work).

On Saturday, Clóvis and Adriane came to Aachen to show the city to their visitor, Anderson, and we took the opportunity to meet them downtown, taking our first touristic walk in our new city.
Arriving there, as we waited in line to enter the parking garage, Daniel got in a really bad mood and the only way to calm him down was to take him in the arms, out of the car. As soon as Kathrin had done so, she had to find shelter in the garage, as a small storm, including hail, came down on us. Fortunately, by the time we had parked the car and calmed Daniel down, the Sun was bright in the sky and we presently met our friends.

After visiting the main attractions of Aachen - the cathedral and the city hall - and spending some time in an Italian Café we rushed home before Daniel could notice how hungry he was. We were also afraid of being late for welcoming Manuela and Sandra, who were going to visit us that evening. But we were on time and although Daniel didn't allow us to have dinner all together (or, more correctly, he wanted to eat with us ;-) ), we enjoyed a nice quiet evening of chatting and taking a few pictures.
