Week 15

Another week started with a few calm days just enjoying family life: father and son watching TV together, taking the cutest pictures ever, testing whether Daniel still fits into his bath bucket after a long time of only using the tub, and Daniel curiously observing our version of "domestic violence"... ;-)

Sadly however, these were also the last days for a while of Daniel seeing his family together this way, since after this week, his "vovó" will have to return to Brazil. Jefferson and I started checking into options for paid child care and even took Daniel to one of these places, but so far we weren't very convinced of paying so much money (that we barely have) to "get rid of Daniel"... Either way, for now Daniel still got to spend lots of time and share plenty of laughs with his "vovó", blissfully unaware of stupid visa regulations and other grown-up stuff that will soon make her suddenly "disappear" for several months...

Naturally, Daniel went swimming again this week as well, this time with me in the water. (Unfortunately, the pool is rather small so that only one of us is allowed in. But well, after all, at least one of us has to take hundreds of pictures every time... ;-) ) Other than last time, when he had just seemed curiously watching and kicking around and wondering what is going on at all, but not given any clear signs of liking or disliking it, now he clearly had fun with it.

On Saturday, it was time to go back to Kirchberg, to get closer to the airport, and to follow a friend's invitation to her Halloween party. With no room in our little car for all of us plus our luggage including a big suitcase, we embarked on the new adventure of traveling by train. It took quite some effort to lug along everything we needed for Daniel and ourselves. But somehow we did manage, and we could even use a bit of the trip to cheer ourselves up with a game of cards. In the evening we arrived safe and sound at "Oma's" and "Opa's" place, and while Daniel got to spend time with his German grandparents, we went off to get "bewitched", even though some of us didn't quite make it there alive... ;-)
