Week 19 (11/22/2009-11/28/2009)

Adri managed to stay until Sunday, so while I started the week catching up on sleep, Jefferson and Adri went for a walk in our neighborhood. This time Adri got to try the sling, even though just for a short time, since the walk was cut short due to the cold weather.

Later in the afternoon, we had another visitor: Manuela, who wanted to test her new waffle maker on us. We "distracted her" with chatting and playing with Daniel and made her hold off on the waffles until Adri had left. ;-) So we ended up having plenty of delicious waffles with cherries and cream for just the three grown-ups of us, while Daniel watched curiously (though he didn't get to try any - poor guy).

The following days brought some new experiences for Daniel: on top of the now regular trips to my university office twice a week (while Jefferson has his German classes), Daniel got to know a babysitter this week, a nice student named Christin, who we found through my university's parenting service office. This week she came mostly for testing out whether Daniel and her would get along with each other for a longer event Jefferson I are going to attend next week. But it also made it easier for Jefferson to take up Aikido classes on Wednesday afternoons, to get rid of those extra pounds gained during the pregnancy... ;-) We also went back to taking Daniel along for shopping occasionally, something we hadn't done any more since we moved to Aachen. Of course, so much excitement is very tiring, but Daniel still prefers falling asleep in our arms and only being carried "secretly" to his (now rather small-looking) crib once he is fast asleep...

Finally, this week Daniel finally returned to his swimming classes - this time again with Jefferson in the water. Sadly, he seemed to have forgotten how much he had liked it before and was just floating around with puzzled looks...
