In stark contrast to the past weeks, this week finally brought us some peace and quiet, just staying at home, resting and admiring the snow and the icy winter weather through double-glassed windows. Not quite voluntarily, though, but partly due to a really nasty cold that kept me home from work for the entire week and also struck down Jefferson for a few days. Thanks to our painstaking precautions, at least Daniel apparently stayed healthy, though he had some problems with spitting up much more than usual. (We even experimented with some anti-reflux formula, but since it may cause colics and the spitting problem improved soon, we didn't try this for long.) But aside from that, he had lots of fun playing and smiling and practicing sitting (not always succeeding at it quite as planned ;-) ), enjoying our undivided attention with both parents at home for a change.
Also, after showing mostly indifference to the piano in the past, he now has finally started to prepare for his career as a great piano virtuoso. ;-) (Though he still may have to work a bit on giving his slobbering on the keyboard a more subte feel...)
Last but not least, we finally got around to mount the new playpen that my parents had brought last week. High time, since his "kicking blanket" on the floor had started to appear very small and confining. And as you see, it looks like he likes his new playground...
