Daniel's third week was very turbulent - meeting lots of people, traveling far across Germany, attending a wedding, and, on top (or because?) of all of this, he got an infection so that he had to go to the children's doctor twice and now has to take antibiotics already at his young age!
The week started rather calm, with a nice meeting at an ice cream cafe in Aalen with friends from Jefferson's German classes. Daniel didn't take much note of it, though, since he was peacefully sleeping away all afternoon in his baby buggy and only woke up right before we went back home.

But then, with very little time until we have to move to Aachen, we had to start looking for apartments there and decided to drive to my parents' place on Monday, which is much closer to Aachen. Of course it was very chaotic to prepare for such a big trip, trying to remember all the equipment we may need for such a small baby staying away from home for a week or more. We also were worried that Daniel may not like the long drive of more than three hours, he took it very well and basically slept the whole time in the car. Since then we have been at my parents' place. He immediately felt at home in the new environment, and they have been enjoying their grandson as much as he has been enjoying them. He also got to meet several of his relatives and friends of my family, who kept coming by to take a look, and he obviously managed to convince everybody of how insanely cute he is.
We were planning to stay only for a day or so and immediately go on to Aachen, but we had to change these plans when Daniel started getting very cranky, crying (apparently in pain) whenever he was awake, eating very little, and eventually even developing a light fever. So we canceled our apartment viewings for this week and took him to the children's doctor instead. First they thought it may just be that he's drinking too little for the hot weather. But they asked us to come back the next day to check if his blood test improved, but when we did, it had become even worse, so he had to start taking antibiotics. These quickly helped him get back to his cute and curious little self, and he even seems to like taking them, though making funny faces at the weird orange-juicy stuff in his mouth...

So finally, yesterday he seemed fine enough again that we could take him to the wedding of one of my friends from high school. Of course, he got hungry right when the wedding ceremony was about to start, and again later when we were going to have dinner. And he also spent some time not being able to make up his mind whether he wanted to eat or sleep - falling asleep when we tried to feed him, and complaining as soon as we went back to the party. But otherwise, once more, he took all the excitement pretty well, by sleeping most of the time. ;)
